Love, Ghostie takes place in a haunted house, but it’s not the kind that’s riddled with creaky doors and angry spirits.
Instead, it’s a house haunted by you: a ghost whose purpose in the afterlife is to help others find love.
In a sense, you play an invisible, overbearing landlord with good intentions. You move tenants into vacant rooms in your manor, with the goal of matching them up with other single, compatible housemates.
Each day, you get a certain amount of action points, and you can use them to scoop up lost belongings, assign chores, and leave gifts for tenants under the guise of their secret admirers.
As you nudge the relationships in the house to blossom, you learn more about each character’s personalities and preferences, eavesdrop on their cute dates and conversations, and even watch them decorate and upgrade the manor as their happiness grows.
It’s one of the most charming games I’ve played all year, and I’m eager to match up new couples on my next playthrough.
