Eberjey gets its name from a Nigerian word for “joy”—and we can confirm that the brand’s elegant, high-quality pajamas spark plenty of it. We tried out multiple sets and were won over by Eberjey’s knack for elevating traditional styles with sumptuous fabrics, flattering cuts, and spot-on colors and prints.

Our favorites are the women’s Gisele and men’s William Long PJ Sets—made from exquisitely soft jersey, with classic contrast piping—and the women’s and men’s Flannel Long PJ Sets, a rare example of flannel jammies that look subtle and refined.

This brand takes classic pajamas to the next level. At first glance, Eberjey’s familiar, classic button-up styles don’t exactly scream “extraordinary.” But their details make all the difference—and justify their price. Every set that we tested impressed us with its fabric (next-level soft), cut (oh-so-flattering), and construction (on point). Plus, the color selections—like just-right solids and geometric prints—are unusually tasteful. Once you’ve spent a night or two in these pajamas, it’s tough not to view them as a necessary luxury.

Eberjey’s modal jersey sets are the GOAT. As one tester put it: “These taught me that there are jersey jammies … and then there are JERSEY JAMMIES.” Eberjey’s sets are made from a Tencel modal and spandex blend that feels outrageously light and fluid—panelists described it as “buttery” and “almost liquid-like.” Unlike many similar-looking (but inferior) iterations, the Eberjey jersey pajamas drape beautifully and wash well without shrinking or pilling. “They’re so much better than my knockoffs from Target,” said one tester.

The Gisele women’s PJs have been a pick in this guide since 2018; the long-sleeved top and medium-rise pants fit well on testers of various heights and sizes. (Eberjey also makes a version of the Gisele in a short set and a set with cropped pants.) The men’s William set also drew raves when we first tested it in 2025; the design is similar to the Gisele, but with a higher neckline and pockets in the pants, though our testers found them too small and flimsy to be useful.

The seasonal flannels are standouts, too. Finding flannel PJs that are simultaneously cozy and cute can be tough. In a field of too-thin, too-thick, and just-plain-ugly competitors, Eberjey’s brushed-cotton flannel jammies—in men’s and women’s sizes—rose to the top. (These aren’t the only flannels we like—we also recommend L.L.Bean’s men’s offerings—but they’re certainly the most stylish.)

We were impressed with the Eberjey set’s fashionable boxy cut and the modern pattern choices. (“Too bad people don’t throw more social pajama parties,” lamented one tester.) Two panelists (5-foot-11 and 6-foot-3, men’s size M) noted that the sleeves on the men’s set run short; if you’re tall or have broader shoulders, we suggest sizing up.

Testers also appreciated the ultrasoft flannel and lightweight, breathable warmth. Reported one Brooklyn-based panelist, “This was the only set that kept me cozy, without overheating or getting sweaty, in the February chill.”

Sadly, these PJs aren’t available year-round—they’re typically sold from mid-October through June—but the same cut returns year after year in new flannel colorways.

Not into jersey or flannel? Check out the silk. We also tested the Inez Washable Silk Printed Long PJ Set, a slinky button-up set made from lightweight, slippery-smooth washable silk that comes in 18 gorgeous prints. Though we ultimately preferred the silk sets from Lunya, which have more interesting, unexpected cuts, if you’re looking for a traditional style, the Inez PJs are definitely worth considering.

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • They’re pricey.
  • Our jersey picks may be too stretchy and body-skimming for some (though sizing up can help).
  • Eberjey’s flannel set isn’t available year-round, and the pattern selections are limited. Also, the sleeves on the men’s flannel set run short.
